MESSAGE

  • Our dyeing associations that handle Kyoto hand-painted Yuzen will set a unified theme for new product development. Each participating company will then announce new products that showcase their expertise. This year's focus is the "Kyoto Yuzen Gown."In the field of fashion, we create ‘outerwear’—such as high-end coats—using Kyoto Yuzen techniques.

    To develop the design of the new gowns, we organized the “Design Competition for New Textile, Produced by Kyoto Yuzen 2026,” which targeted students from fashion and art schools in Japan and abroad. We will use the award-winning designs as motifs to develop new products, and we will hold a exhibition to promote sales channels for the inbound market.

    The presentation will take place in two cities and venues: Kyoto (Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art) and Tokyo (Shibuya Hikarie). In addition, the products will be featured on the online mall “Some Kobo Portal” with the aim of cultivating new sales channels.
    Through Kyoto Yuzen, we aim to promote cultural exchange by expressing designs and motifs inspired by diverse fashion cultures and traditions. We warmly invite you to view and enjoy these works.
